We went to visit Glenn after work today to clean out the small trash and leftovers from the previous owners. AC is out so it was HOT and muggy and reeked of mold. I masked up and we dug in. Before we gave up for the night a typically summer storm decided to roll through outside. . . . And inside. I knew we had water issues in the living room, but didn’t know it would be quite this bad. Water drip drip dripping onto carpet, explains the mold smell! Even with the water, mold, and structural issues Brady and I still agree this house will be an easier fix than our last one. AND I have begun the hunt for a reasonably priced apron front sink!
We moved the piano and rugs as well. Check out how many layers of floor have to be removed, they didn’t remove floor before installing new. They simply installed right on top of the old layer. In one spot we have split brick, plywood, then hardwood. In the dining room we have TWO layers of ceramic tile one on top of the other, then 1-2 layers of plywood before you even reach the sub floor. And it all has to come out, including the sub floor!
