Progress is a Process

Just a quick room by room update from the past few weeks.

Main Room (Dining, Kitchen, Entry & Hallway)

We finally have sub floor throughout the ENTIRE house, no more jumping from joist to joist or praying I don’t take a swift trip into the pit of despair (crawl space). We even have enough floor space for me to begin moving in furniture! Brady is most excited about having his covered trailer as a trailer again and NOT as furniture storage. And my new doors have arrived, I’m so excited about the black fiberglass front door! It will look great with the light exterior, wood accents, and new black windows. Also, my kitchen is officially designed! It is written in chalk on the floor.

Exterior Progress

What’s more fun than finding a lot more structural rot. . . . seeing it fixed! Brady has replaced the ENTIRE beam and seal plate around the living room exterior and interior. We have replaced the trim along the exterior (which is how we figured out the entire bottom of the living room was rotten, there were tears shed this day as all hope was lost since we thought we were completely done with rot). Anyone who says God doesn’t have a since of humor, is totally wrong. I know he was laughing at us that day! Paint swatches are up, and they are all various shades of white that Brady and I cannot agree on. Time is ticking on picking a color, with the next month we will be ready for paint (I’m sure the neighbors will be happy when the exterior isn’t quite so ugly!).

Check out these rusted nails from the exterior rotted wood of the house. I found it fascinating how deteriorated they were.

Living Room

All new seal plate, and all new subfloor under the seal plate. It was a long and tedious process, but it is done, and the living room is solid! And. . . no holes in the floor. Sub floor is complete in this room as well! No more jumping over the joist, out the door. Soon there will be a porch to walk out the french doors onto. . . that will be so nice.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms look the same, we have sub floor down and it is now door storage for now.
