The two best Rocks. . . Sheetrock and Durock

The bathroom stack, I love seeing it get smaller and smaller. Why is it purple you ask? Purple sheet rock is for rated for moist areas such as the bathrooms. Which is exactly where this is going.
Giving new life to an old fireplace insert. We LOVE a fireplace and are very excited to have one in this house. The insert was not in the best shape, and we are too cheap to buy a new insert. We began by removing the doors and the front face from the insert. Then, sanded the peeling spots and removed all rust (there was a good bit) using a sander and steel brush. Now we are painting all of the visible parts with matte black, high heat, grill paint. It is already looking better without all of those gold details. We will replace the damaged firebricks and fan before putting it all back together.
We HAVE WATER!!! Brady is amazing, he ran new drain and water lines for the entire house. Drain lines are not something we automatically do for every house, but there was no avoiding it for this one. We moved the kitchen and expanded the laundry room which resulted in plumbing needing fully redone. The original drain line for the kitchen sink was actually running up hill (we all know stuff rolls down hill not up, so that HAD to be reran). We ran pex pipe underneath the house and it is a breeze to work with. If this is a project you plan to tackle in your own hose, just know uncoiling the rolls is similar to wrestling an alligator, lay it out in the sun for a bit to make them a little easier to work with. The straight sticks may cost a few cents more, but are much easier to work with. The Sharkbite fittings are a little pricey but worth their weight in gold because of how easy they are to install.
