Everything is Closing In

The old saying “you don’t know what you have until its gone” also goes for house renovations. Its been MONTHS since we have seen fully sheet rocked rooms, or an actual ceiling. Its amazing how much 1/2″ drywall hanging on a wall or ceiling actually make a bunch of 2×4 boards look like an actual house.

We finally have a functioning bathroom! I’m sure the fine people at the Circle K are concerned since I haven’t been making multiple trips per day on the weekends for the toilet and a Mountain Dew Froster. The main bath just needs me to decide on shower tile and the guest bath just needs me to decide on a vanity. Brady will also be very happy when I decide on those things so he can totally finish up those rooms, but I’m indecisive and cheap. Prime day is coming and Fourth of July sales are my friend.

Finishing dry wall is a very nasty process. As I type this my iPad has a thin coating of white dust on it as does everything inside the house, including Brady. This was his arm as we were getting ready to leave. We left early to get a new sander, my poor Craftsman died a slow painful death due to all of the drywall dust.

At least he faired better than my sander!

Happy Independence Day Everyone!
